Aigues Mortes, 2014, 10" x 8", graphite
A walled seaside town, east of Collioure, where the white Camarge horse is used to herd the bulls through the swamps. Sea salt has been harvested nearby since Roman times. This is one of the best drawings I have ever done.

Paseo de Gracia
2000 5" x 8" pencil
Before dawn on New Years Day. Megan slept and I wandered around Barcelona in that sweet light before sunrise. It was clear, windy for morning and the sidewalk didn't give below my knee. The ancient lamps swirled upward and finally over the broad avenue as the bus slid just barely beneath them, heading downtown, carrying cold, sleepy people to work. She looked down at me as the window pulled her away, drawing her city, her now empty street.
